Kena Saman

Today we decided that after class, we were going straight to the archery range to practice. Not wanting to make another trip back home, we packed the arrows and the huge bow into my car, parked it at the faculty and went for classes.

When we came back, this is what we found stuck to the windshield of my car.

Some explanation:
- lampu biru = when my car is parked, a blue LED light on my dashboard will blink.
- Kim Heng = my roommate.
- SMP = wanyean's course code.

Looks like their lecturers aren't giving them enough homework.

Archery Practice

I decided to tryout for my hostel's archery team, just because Adrian was chosen as team captain. Apparently, he got selected because he has the flashiest cell number in the entire hostel (his number ends with 003). Kinda shows how popular this sport is in our uni.

I have never touched a bow prior to this so the 'tryout' actually feels more like 'training' to me. While most of the guys who were trying out are hitting the targets effortlessly, I'm having trouble trying to get even a single arrow onto the board (note: i said board, not the target)

My shots were pretty far off target. So much so that whenever it was my turn to shoot, some participants are seen moving running away from the sidelines :( Still, it's all in good fun :D

Cyclops vs. Pink-Eyed Sewjin

I recently got infected with Conjuctivitis. Could be the dirty bed sheets, I don't know, but one thing I do know is that my eyes are feeling mighty itchy right now. But it's kinda cool in a way because with my both my eyes really red right now, I kinda feel like a superhero. You know, like Cyclops, with the power to vaporise villains!

But of course, I have to preserve this blog's originality. Presenting my own brand of superhero, The Contagious Pink-Eyed Sewjin, with the power to infect villians!

Ok, maybe not.

Jazz Overload

I have always been a fan of jazz songs ever since I first heard of Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles. It was later on that I developed a liking for the more contemporary jazz singers such as Norah Jones, Diana Krall, Michael Buble & Renee Olstead. The last two are more of cover musicians but they both never fail to bring a certain freshness to jazz classics.

Yesterday, I had one of my all time dreams fulfilled; I attended my first ever jazz music concert! How was it, some of you may ask. Well..

I sorta learned that there's this huge difference between jazz songs and jazz music. Jazz songs are accompanied by vocals, which is what I thought the concert that night was all about. Instead, I got a hefty dose of jazz music which was a brand of jazz that was purely instrumental and nauseously repetitive.

Some members of the audience even took a nap! Come to think of it, it's pretty fun to watch. They'll be napping throughout an entire number but as soon as the band finishes playing, they would quickly awake from their slumber to give a round of applause.

But with all that said, the band (David Gomes & The Sextet) was pretty good. I mean I would gladly attend another jazz concert.. maybe in another year.. or two.

Oh, and it helps to have a friend to make fun of the band with :D

Nah I'm not really fired. My internship ends tomorrow and well, I kinda don't want it to.
